How to create a WhatsApp link
Turn a phone number into a link that opens a conversation.
Start with the correct number
Choose the country in the WhatsApp tool, then enter the number. For a Malaysian number written locally as 012 345 6789, the international form is +60 12 345 6789: the local leading zero is removed. LinkMint normalizes the number before creating the link. A valid number format does not prove that the number has a WhatsApp account.
Add a useful message
A short message such as “Hi, I would like to ask about your opening hours” helps the visitor get started. The link fills in the message; the visitor can edit it and must choose to send it. Avoid including confidential details in a message that will be published.
Copy, test and share
- Open the WhatsApp tool and enter your number and optional message.
- Generate the link and use Open in WhatsApp to check the destination.
- Copy it into your business profile, website or email signature.
- For a printed card, download its QR code and scan a test print.
When something goes wrong
If the wrong country code appears, check the selected country or enter the full international number. If WhatsApp cannot find the recipient, confirm that the number is registered. A changed business number requires a new link and new printed QR artwork.
